In February 2020, we moved into our own studio space in the brand new arts precinct, Collingwood Yards. Our cute space measures 14sqm and is fitted out like a Grandma’s Kitchen, with a beautiful communal wooden table that seats 6 people and two comfy armchairs to sit, read and share cups of warm tea in.
The studio is available for free for First Nations mob and for a flat $20 fee per week for Black and people of colour creatives to use. No one is turned away for lack of funds. We supply tea, cookies (including gluten-free ones), milk (including soy milk) and other yummy things to share. Using the space is also a great way to meet the other creative community members on-site, which you can see here.
There is a drop off zone for people in a wheelchair on 30 Perry St, Collingwood. There is a ramp that leads directly to the gate and then to the lift, which will take you to Level 2 of the Perry St building. You need to have a security swipe to be able to operate the lift. There are accessible toilets on every floor. There is an accessible communal kitchenette, including a sink, hot water, kitchen shelf, fridge and a Creatives of Colour locker space.
If you require financial support to be able to come to our studio or attend our events, wherever possible we try to support people to pay for any transport, childcare and access costs. Please contact us to discuss.
Please contact us if you would like to have a tour of the space!
